Edit: Just wanted to clarify that it's the e-shop version, not a physical copy.So I bought Pokemon Sword. Before I started playing, I saw that some people were having issues with the auto-save function. It was apparently causing a lose of save data with other games. There's a lot more to it than that, but I'm not getting into that here. If you're interested, just google it.
Anyway, as soon as I started playing, I disabled the auto-save function to avoid problems. So far so good. No issues with data lose on my Switch or SD card, but I backed up my saves on my PC just in case.
I decided to turn auto-save back on since I thought maybe the issue was rare and only happening to systems that were modded/hacked. I played for about an hour, then checked my save data for my other games.
Here's what happened:- Two of my games were wiped.
- I turned my Switch off and had trouble getting it back on for some time, which has never happened before.
- When I started playing the game again, the movement was all funny, like the character wouldn't move.
- There was an area where the sound was off.
- I deleted the games data, restarted my system, started playing the game again and turned auto-save off again. So far everything works again.
I bought my Switch less than a year ago brand new. It's not modified in anyway. My Joy-cons are brand new (less than a week old). My system isn't bricked like others.
Note: The games effected were Hollow Knight and Worms, both downloaded games. My advice to you if you're going to buy these games:- Back up your data on an SD card.
- Turn off auto-save in game, and keep it off until there's a patch.
